Liberty Hall is a 6824 square-foot, 315-seat theater that will provide a comfortable, versatile venue for lectures, conferences, classes, concerts and films. With a large-format screen and excellent audio and lighting system, the theater has multimedia capabilities and state of the art acoustics and technology making it a perfect setting for your event.
Built in the 1930’s the Liberty was purchased and renovated by the City of Tyler to be used by the community to bring the performing arts downtown. In September of 2011 the Liberty Hall will open to the community. Patrons will experience music, dance, theatre, visual arts, comedy and film in a lovely, art deco setting reminiscent of the 1930’s. The Liberty is a perfect blend of the old and the new, honoring historic Texas theater, while providing up to date audio and visual systems to accommodate today’s technology.
Liberty Hall is available for use by the public. Requests for usage will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Use of Liberty Hall is at the discretion of the manager and as such, the manager reserves the right to refuse any usage.
Rental rates are for the building only. Ticketing, marketing and promotion, staffing is all the responsiblity of the renter and not the venue. Rental events will not be promoted by the venue or it's staff. Separate marketing package is available thru the venue for an extra charge.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, for an eight hour period = $800
Thursday, Friday or Saturday, for an eight hour period = $1,250
Each extra hour of rental time is $100 per hour
Rental time includes set-up and tear-down time. Please take this into account when making your application.
Damage fee – refundable and dependent on the event. This will be discussed and decided with Manager.
Staff hours (ie, audio, lighting, etc.) will be $50 per hour per person - necessary staffing can be discussed with Liberty Hall Manager prior to signing the contract.
Video recording of your event - 3 hours recorded and edited = $750 (after 3 hours: $100 per hour)
If you will be utilizing the piano, there is a $200 tuning fee.
Upon signing the rental agreement, Renter shall pay a Rental Deposit of 25% of the rental fee for each time period reserved. This amount is NON-REFUNDABLE.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before the scheduled event. If the remaining balance is not received at this time, the reservation will be canceled and the building made available for lease.
A Damage fee is also due 30 days before the scheduled event and is refundable.
An arts and entertainment marketing package is available through the venue and is an additional $800 per month/event (at the discretion of the Hall Manager). This includes representation on the Liberty Hall's rack card, marquee and website page, as well as Facebook posts one week prior to the event. Inclusion in any Liberty Hall event marketing ads that are done. All of this must be decided, agreed upon and paid before the quarterly marketing of Liberty Hall begins: December; March; June and September.
